Hi there! My name is Mahnoor, but most people know me as Noori. I often describe myself as a third culture kid, having grown up immersed in a blend of cultures that have shaped who I am today. Born and raised in Qatar with Pakistani heritage, I later became a British citizen after spending the better part of my life in the UK. This rich tapestry of cultural influences forms the cornerstone of my identity, enabling me to connect with people from all walks of life and appreciate the beauty of diversity.

Professionally, I am an accountant, but my true passion lies in art. From a young age, I was always doodling and experimenting with oil pastels, charcoal, and paints. During the pandemic, I rediscovered this passion as a way to de-stress and reconnect with my creative side. Shortly after, in 2021, I moved to Digbeth—Birmingham's creative hub. Surrounded by the city's vibrant artistic community, I found endless inspiration and began my journey as a contemporary artist.

Now, four years on, I live and create in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter, where the area's rich history and thriving culture continue to fuel my artistic practice. My art is deeply influenced by serene nature walks, captivating movie scenes, and even single colors that evoke specific moods. Using vibrant acrylics and textured techniques such as palette knives and thickening mediums, I incorporate a three-dimensional aspect into my work, adding depth and intrigue.

Over time, my journey has evolved from a personal passion to a fulfilling artistic career. I’ve exhibited my work at numerous exhibitions and markets, collaborated with local brands, and participated in art fairs, all of which have provided valuable opportunities to showcase my art and connect with other creatives. My artwork is currently featured at Yacreates Studio Shop, where visitors can experience my pieces firsthand.

Recognition of my work includes nominations for prestigious awards, such as the ongoing We Are Creative Awards. These milestones represent significant chapters in my growth as a professional contemporary artist.
