Mahnoor, widely known as Noori, is an award-winning contemporary artist celebrated for her bold use of texture, colour, and emotion-driven compositions. Based in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, she balances her full-time career as an accountant with her deep-rooted passion for art, which allows her to de-stress and reconnect with her creativity.
In 2025, Noori was honoured with the inaugural Best Visual Artwork of the Year award from We Are Creative by B Events marking a pivotal milestone in her artistic journey. Her work has been featured in exhibitions across Birmingham and beyond, most recently at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA) Gallery and in Surreal Solihull, a public art project commissioned by the council and highlighted by the BBC. She also participates annually in Birmingham Open Studios and the Birmingham: Open outdoor exhibition in Victoria Square, further cementing her presence in the region’s contemporary art scene.
Noori’s art is defined by her mastery of textured acrylic techniques, often employing palette knives and thickening mediums to add depth and dimension. Inspired by serene landscapes, cinematic storytelling, and the emotional resonance of colour, she creates pieces that invite viewers into moments of nostalgia and reflection.
Her multicultural upbringing - born and raised in Qatar with Pakistani heritage before settling in the UK, plays a vital role in shaping her artistic voice. This diverse cultural lens allows her to weave elements of identity, memory, and storytelling into each painting.
On her creative philosophy, Noori shares:
"Art is more than just an aesthetic pursuit, it’s a way to translate emotions and experiences into something tangible. My goal is to create pieces that spark joy, introspection, and connection."
With a growing audience both in the UK and internationally, Noori continues to establish herself as a unique voice in contemporary art. She welcomes commissions and collaborations, offering collectors the opportunity to own works that resonate with their personal narratives.
