Hi there, my name is Mahnoor (aka Noori). I often describe myself as a third culture kid, which means I've had the incredible privilege of growing up with a blend of cultures. I was born and raised in Qatar with Pakistani heritage, and I became a British citizen after living here for the better half of my life. Having been exposed to diverse perspectives from a young age, my identity is a rich tapestry woven from the threads of different places, languages, and traditions. This journey has truly shaped my outlook on life, allowing me to connect with people from all walks of life and appreciate the beauty of cultural diversity.

I am an accountant professionally and a self-taught artist. From a young age, I was always doodling and creating art using mediums such as oil pastels, charcoal, and paints. However, it was at the end of 2019 that I picked up the skill again to de-stress from everyday life and reconnect with my childhood passion. This was also when I moved to Digbeth, Birmingham, which is the epitome of the creative hub in this city. Surrounded by other artists and their craft, it is a great source of inspiration for me.

I am also inspired by serene nature walks to captivating scenes from movies, even down to a single colour that shapes the mood for the artwork. I use vibrant acrylic paint to capture the essence of places, and enhance the painting by incorporating texture through the use of palette knives, thickening mediums and tools, introducing a three-dimensional aspect that adds intrigue and depth to the work.

As an artist, I'm fuelled by a passion for self-expression, and my vision centers around creating art that brings positivity and joy to the viewer, resonating with them as though it were their own memories. Over the years, I've honed my skills, experimented with different techniques, and discovered my unique artistic voice.

I have exhibited in multiple exhibitions and markets which have provided me with great opportunities to showcase my work and meet other creatives. Please give my socials a follow to keep up to date with future events/ exhibitions.

I am open to commissions, please fill in the "contact me" form if you are interested in creating a piece with my artistic perspective.
